Dollywood is alive and well in 2020 and continuing to adapt their seasonal traditions to meet the safety standards of social distancing. They are currently bringing in the Halloween season with this year’s Pumpkin LumiNights, something we have longed for more than ever in 2020, and now we look forward to this year’s Smoky Mountain Christmas going on at Dollywood beginning November 7th.

Here is what they about this year’s Smoky Mountain Christmas on their website:

“Take in the experience of a traditional Christmas in the Smoky Mountains with our award-winning festival, named the best in America for over a decade. Gaze in awe at over 5 million glistening lights, and for the first time ever, fireworks that light up the winter night sky. Continue your family’s favorite Christmas traditions this year with award-winning shows, culinary delights, seasonal shopping and, most importantly, the light that brings us all closer together. Wrap your family in the light of the season this Christmas at Dollywood.

More than 5 million sparkling lights surround you, adorning every building, illuminating each walkway and glowing in the sky above. Every part of the park is saturated in uniquely colored lights so no area feels like the last. As you explore, you’ll encounter classic Christmas red and green that turn to crisp, arctic blues that transform into warm gold hues. Come make millions of memories wrapped in light.

Cherished holiday stories unfold onstage in a perfect harmony of song, family and celebration. Guest favorites “Christmas In The Smokies,” “Kingdom Heirs Christmas” and more return with daily shows performed indoors with reduced capacity.

All-new this year at the Back Porch Theatre, “Heart of the Holidays” features members of Dolly Parton’s extended family sharing stories and showcasing songs from her brand new Christmas album, along with classic holiday favorites. These heartwarming holiday shows will tug at your heart and lift your spirit.

Enjoy an all-new Dollywood Christmas tradition. Every Friday and Saturday* during Smoky Mountain Christmas, the “Merry & Bright” fireworks fill the sky with light and unfolds in rhythm to new holiday Christmas tunes. There are a variety of areas throughout the park where you can view this uplifting display.”

We have video footage of previous Smoky Mountain Christmas Dollywood seasons so that anyone who has not had the privilege to attend one of their Winterfest festivals can get an honest look at what they might expect. Fireworks are not shown because, as the website states, this is brand new for 2020!
